The Dismissive Avoidant person is intellectual. They like to think through everything, enjoy endless learning, & value their security. They work well under pressure and are resilient in work. In times of unhealth, they believe they are unsafe, helpless, incapable, and not worthy. They feel shame and constant low level anxiety. They don't always know how to communicate, negotiate, or set boundaries in romantic relationships. They may also set boundaries versus using words to communicate to people in their lives. When in conflict, they are rational & will stop talking in order to avoid conflict with the other person. In times of feeling stressed or pushed to communicate, they are known to shut down.
